Privacy Policy

He Texted ("the app") is made by Anemoia Labs Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, which is the controller of the personal data described here. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who processes it on our behalf, and how you can delete it.

1. What we collect

• Account details: the email address and identifier that Sign in with Apple gives us.
• Profile details: your name, age and the answers you choose during setup.
• Screenshots: the screenshots of conversations you upload for analysis.
• Details about him: the name you give each person, a photo of him if you add one, and the relationship status, situation and goal you select.
• Analyses: the results the app produces, so they appear in your history.
• Purchases: whether you subscribe, handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and basic device information (model, operating system, app version) so we can fix problems.

2. How we use it

• To analyse the conversations you upload and show you the results.
• To keep your history of analyses and the people you track.
• To manage your subscription.
• To send notifications, only if you allow them.
• To find and fix crashes and to answer you when you contact support.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. AI analysis by OpenAI

He Texted uses OpenAI, a third-party AI provider, to analyse the conversations you upload. OpenAI's GPT-4o model reads your screenshot and writes the analysis you see in the app.

• What is sent to OpenAI: the screenshot you upload, the name you gave the person in the conversation, and the relationship status, situation and goal you selected. Your own name, email address, age and account details are not sent, and neither are photos you add of him.
• How it is sent: your screenshot is first uploaded to our cloud storage (Supabase). Our server then sends OpenAI a link to that image together with the details above, and OpenAI returns the analysis to us.
• Why: only to analyse the conversation and show you the results.
• Your permission: the app explains this and asks for your permission before your first screenshot is uploaded. If you choose Not now, nothing is uploaded or sent to OpenAI.
• OpenAI's handling: OpenAI processes this data to provide the analysis to us. Its own policies, at openai.com/policies, describe how it handles data it receives through its API.

4. Who processes your data

We share personal data only with the providers that run parts of the app for us, each for the purpose listed:

• Supabase: our database and file storage, holding your account, screenshots, photos and analyses.
• OpenAI: the AI analysis described in section 3.
• Apple: sign-in and payments.
• RevenueCat: subscription status.
• OneSignal: notifications, if you allow them.
• Sentry: crash reports.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to a buyer of the business under the same protections as this policy.

5. Security

Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections. Each person's screenshots and photos are stored in their own folder, and the storage rules let only that person list, change or delete them.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself in the app under Profile, then Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and immediate: your account, your analyses, the screenshots you uploaded and any photos you added are removed from our database and file storage, and we ask Apple to revoke He Texted's access to your Apple ID. If you do not see Delete Account, update the app, or ask us to delete your account by writing to support@anemoialabs.com and we will do it within 30 days. Copies in our hosting provider's routine backups are deleted as those backups expire.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Write to support@anemoialabs.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

8. Age

He Texted is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, write to us and we will delete their data.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as standard contractual clauses.

10. This website

hetexted.app uses Vercel's privacy-friendly analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not identify you.

11. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
